Last week we had the honour to be a sponsor of Finland Pakistan Business Summit. The summit’s primary focus was expanding co-operation in the fields of energy and education.
FPBS was held on Monday the 13th in Islamabad and Wednesday the 15th in Karachi. Discussions were focused on the need for Pakistan to replicate the Finnish model in enhancing its reliance on renewable energy and excellence in education, professional training, and gender equality for socioeconomic success.
During both days of the event, FGES hosted the "Afternoon with Education" event.
The highlight of this event was a panel discussion. On Monday in Islamabad the opening speech was given by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, (Chairman, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan) while the panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Shaista Ayesha (CEO, of Seed Ventures). Monday’s discussion point was about FGES’s ability to offer structured pedagogical approaches that help develop communities aiming at raising local collective efficacy in partnership. FGES believes that with co-operation, challenges in literacy skills can be solved while relying on the importance of what science of learning tells us.
Wednesday’s panel was opened by Mr. Hannu Ripatti (Ambassador of Finland to Pakistan) while the panel was hosted by Dr. Shehzad Jeeva (CEO, Aga Khan Examination Board). The main topics discussed were the importance to create holistic learning journeys for students and utilise modern technologies for enhancing learning and how learning analytics can provide us data to make better pedagogical decisions.
Both countries can learn from each other in the field of education. Therefore FGES is keen on building long lasting partnerships.
It is a great privilege to be at the forefront in providing Pakistan with better learning and better pedagogy.
